Biographical Text

J.P. Morgan was born into a family of bankers which influenced his own decision to enter the financial world. The financial empire he built was so successful and powerful that even the United States government turned to him for advice in times of trouble. His power and status did not come without criticism though, as he was accused of creating business monopolies and unfair advantages. Besides his business dealings, he was also an avid art collector and donated many pieces to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
